THE BAD & UGLY - SOLVING SERIOUS BASEMENT PROBLEMS

There are several ways that builders cut costs on there jobs. Don't be fooled into letting them use cheap inexpensive products that will soon cost you to replace. The most common pipe used in basement french drains in the very fragile ribbed plastic pipe seen in the pictures below. These pipes encourage a long list of nightmares. They promote moisture into the air by evaperating water caught inside the ribs of the pipe, promoting mold and foul smells. They are easily clogged, restricting the flow of water, and over time deteriorate; eventually serving little to no purpose at all. Select Basement uses only the highest quailty products and tools to ensure that every job will last for a lifetime. Evey pipe laid down by Select Basement is made of 100% PVC and joined and sealed professionaly. All pipe laid down by us will be at the appropriate angles and joints are sealed to ensure water flow is unrestricted and does not lay static inside the pipe. Let us do your job and get it done right the first time around!

Buyer Beware!

Buyer Beware!!!, don't be fooled when a salesman tells you that every waterproofing company does the same thing, and all waterproofing companies perform the same quality of work. After All, when has that ever been true? I wouldn't be convinced into believing that but if proof is what you need, please have a look at some lesser quality installs

As you can see......

Redo Systems

We are faced all the time with fixing the mistakes of lesser quality competitors who are more focused on shortcuts rather than the customers needs for long term lasting quality. Don't be fooled by other companies tricks and gimmicks. Real quality work will speak for itself....EVERYTIME!

In the pictures below, you can see the buildup up mold and mildew building up on the walls after a poor waterproofing install. Mold can be extremely dangerous and hazardous to loved ones health. Below the surface is water, build up and lay static, almost always resulting in what you see and what you can smell. In this case, poor piping was used and was installed improperly; this poor horizontal positing resulted in the lesser quality/less efficient pipe, resulting in less water flow and increased build up in the pipe. After we dug up all the bad material and replaced the rock bedding with new un molded crushed rock, we began replacing the plastic lower quality pipes with PVC piping for long term durability and a more efficient flow of water. A fresh new bed, covered with an adequate concrete covering and it's on to cleaning your moldy walls and some new paint.

Sump Pumps All Wrong

Poor sump pump installation can lead to some major repair costs and horrifying expensive damages. It is very important to have the proper sump pump configuration for this is the heart of your waterproofing system.

The Nighmares You've Heard About

Improper French drain installations can lead to bad mold problems, forcing you to redo you whole entire installation. Walls Filled With Water

Here are some good pictures of walls secretly filled with water. If your walls look like this, it's a very good idea to have them professionally drained before you end up with bigger problems.

At The Curb Once Agian

Don't become victim to a poor installation.

Poor Exterior French Drain Installations

A poor French drain installation can be a costly endeavor. Here you can see the low quality and poor installation of a builders French Drain. This kind of exterior setup is the least expensive route, which is why it is so common among builders. Unfortunately, this won't work to help protect your basement and their walls from developing water problems.
